CONSORTIUM AND MANAGEMENT STRUCTURE
The PORTAL consortium consists of 52 partners in 24 European countries. In each participating country the consortium has a partner as National Focus Point (NFP) Additional to the NFP there exist in each country 1-4 Educational Test Sites (ETSI). The consortium covers all levels of higher education. Its core are leading educational institutions at university level as well as large national and international commercial training institutes and some experienced research institutions and consultants. In the advisory board the participation of representatives of the industry sector and of municipal and local authorities, authorities in the field of public transport and road management & transport associations guarantees that the interests of the most influential policy-makers are safeguarded and that the services and products of PORTAL are brought into line with this target group. NATIONAL FOCUS POINTS (NFPs)
For each country in the project, a National Focus Point is defined. Each NFP is in charge of common tasks concerning his country (for example to carry out the survey on supply and demand in national educational institutions and other target groups). EDUCATIONAL TEST SITE (ETSI)
Each country has from 1 to 4 Educational Test Sites (ETSI). Each ETSI is responsible for the development or adaptation and integration of course modules in the national and test site contexts in addition to the selected key topics and the selected EU project results. In most of these cases, this means modification to existing training measures. They will also implement and evaluate the course modules at their site. KEY TOPIC EXPERTS
PORTAL concentrates on the most important key topics related to regional and local urban transport. For each of the topics chosen, the PORTAL consortium has key topic experts at its disposal. The key topic expert is that partner within the PORTAL consortium which is involved in national and international projects in their special area of expertise. Which key topic will be dealt with and which key topic expert will be in charge of the tasks described in the following will be determined after the surveys carried out in WP1 (demand and supply). ADVISORY BOARD
An Advisory Board, consisting of stakeholder representatives will provide an important external guidance to the PORTAL Management Committee. The Board will consist of representatives of the primary user group of the project (Universities), but also of a selection from private sector industry represented by members of 2 international enterprises. The remaining members of the Advisory Board are from two international organisations. The Board will be presented with the key results of the project and will be invited to deliver expert or user-oriented advice. Information exchange with the Board will be via telecommunications, however, selected members will also be invited to 4 Management Committee meetings.
