TARGET GROUPS
Target groups are to be addressed in two market segments (educational institutions and end-users):
The first target level of PORTAL will be educational institutions on two levels:
- Universities and colleges (land use, transport management, transport planning)
- Commercial training institutions in the field of transport
PORTAL subsequently also focuses on the training of the end-users:
- students (undergraduate/post-graduate)
- decision-makers and multipliers (transport officials, transport manager, transport researchers)
- transport professionals: transport planners, engineers, operators, educators, psychologists.
TRAINING / TEACHING PHILOSOPHY of PORTAL
There are many definitions of training but the one which conveys a concise concept is:
"training is the systematic development of the
knowledge, skills and attitudes required by an individual to allow them
to perform their task or job more effectively"
This definition tries to convey that education and training are part of a systematic approach with well defined stages known as the training cycle.
